YMCA PEACE WEEK
November 19-26, 2011

Taking place in YMCAs across Canada, YMCA Peace Week is an
opportunity to join people of all ages in activities focused on
exploring peace from a local and global perspective. Contact your
local YMCA to learn about the specific Peace Week activities taking
place in your
community.
YMCA Canada Peace Week Activity
Guide: this Activity Guide is filled with educational
activities designed to involve children, youth and adults in
exploring peace from a local and global perspective.
Youth and young professionals are invited to join the Facebook
conversation to discuss peace issues and the actions that can be
taken to lead change, locally and globally.
A particular highlight of the week in many communities will be
the presentation of the YMCA Peace Medal to an individual or group
who, without any special resources, demonstrates a commitment to
peace through special contributions made within their community or
overseas.
"This project is undertaken with the financial support of the
Government of Canada through the Canadian International Development
Agency (CIDA)."
