In 2001, many celebrations were held all across Canada to mark
the 150th anniversary of the YMCA in Canada. Canada Post issued a
postage stamp in honour of the YMCA's commitment to building strong
kids, strong families and strong communities for 150 years. Four
million stamps were issued.
The official ceremony included: The Honourable Martin Cauchon,
Minister Responsible for National Revenue; The Honourable André
Ouellet, President and Chief Executive Officer, Canada Post; and
Mr. Raymond Mantha, Chair of the Board, YMCA Canada.
