Chief Financial Officer
Kathryn Ross brings more than 17 years of experience in providing financial leadership for the non-profit sector to her role as Chief Financial Officer of YMCA Canada. In addition to managing all aspects of YMCA Canada's financial and fiscal operations, including compliance with federal and provincial reporting requirements, Kathryn supports the YMCA Canada Finance & Audit Committee in its oversight of the organization. She also provides support and monitors member association compliance with related laws and regulations governing the charitable sector.
Kathryn's international career spans more than three decades and includes roles on the Audit teams of some of the world's largest professional services firms, in Scotland, Italy and Toronto. Before joining YMCA Canada in 2012, she provided financial leadership for Imagine Canada, Toronto Community Foundation and The Baycrest Centre Foundation.
Community involvement is a priority for Kathryn. She volunteers her time and expertise with the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Diabetes Association, and is a past Director of Eva's Initiatives, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for homeless youth. A Chartered Accountant by training, Kathryn earned her Accounting degree at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. She is a member of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants of both Ontario and Scotland.
