YMCA Canada proudly stands with our 2SLGBTQIA+ community during Pride Month and every day of the year. At the YMCA, we believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and equality. Pride Month is a time to celebrate the vibrant diversity of sexual and gender expression within our communities. It is also a reminder that this celebration is rooted in resistance and solidarity. To truly support our 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, we must listen to and amplify the voices leading the struggle for equality.
Our commitment at the YMCA is to create safe, welcoming spaces where everyone feels a sense of belonging. We uphold the belief that everyone should be treated with dignity, care, and respect. This extends to our 2SLGBTQIA+ staff, volunteers, members, and community. Hatred based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression is unjust and harmful. It is our collective responsibility to stand against all forms of prejudice, ensuring that everyone experiences inclusion and belonging.
Our communities will shine their brightest when we ensure our 2SLGBTQIA+ family, friends, and neighbours feel celebrated, valued, and supported.
